Whether you have to go to work, fancy a night out with friends, or simply want to run some errands, leaving your dog at home isn’t always the simple solution you’d like it to be. Maybe your pup struggles with separation anxiety, requires constant supervision, or needs a lot of entertainment and stimulation. Doggy daycare might be the fix you’re looking for! Instead of being left all by their lonesome, your dog can thrive in an environment tailored to their individual needs and interests. At Tails of Manhattan Dog Daycare (ToM), your dog will receive the interaction and activity they crave under the watchful eye of trained professionals. Because the last thing you need on top of your busy life is to worry that your dog is getting the care they deserve while you’re away. So forget the fret- Tails of Manhattan is here to help. Here are some of the options ToM offers for while you’re out and about:
Half-Day or Full Day Daycare
Flexible lifestyles call for flexible hours. Tails of Manhattan is open seven days a week, with substantive hours of operation: 7:30 am – 7:30 pm Monday-Friday, and 9:00 am – 5:00 pm Saturday and Sunday. Our extensive daytime hours give the working person the opportunity and convenience to drop off their pet at our facility before it’s time to clock in, and pick them up at the end of the workday.
Daycare is charged by either the half day or full day, giving parents the opportunity to set the duration of their pet’s stay with us! A half day includes up to six hours of daycare, and a full day includes anything over 6 hours and up to 12 hours of daycare. A 15-minute grace period is built into both options. After the grace period, the pet’s stay is moved into the next block (a half day becomes a full day, a full day moves into overnight boarding.) Please call or email to inform the front desk if you will be late! After the closing grace period (7:45pm), all pups must remain on-site and the store will be locked.
Parents can pay by the day at our a-la-carte pricing to accommodate a changing schedule, or if care is only needed on occasion.
Special Packages
In addition to our a-la-carte prices, parents may want to take advantage of our bundled daycare packages. Each is a great value, and awards full-days of daycare at discounted rates. Our 10 package, 20 package, and 30 package are 10%, 15%, and 20% off of our daily rate, respectively, and can be used for any day of the week. They are valid for six (6) months, or until all the package days are used. Daycare packages are a great choice for parents who know that they intend to use daycare multiple days a week/month, but whose schedules aren’t necessarily static. Our Weekday Pass is active for thirty (30) days from purchase, and grants unlimited daycare Mondays-Fridays (excludes weekends). The Weekday Pass is ideal for those that work office jobs or commute regularly during the weekdays.
Overnight Boarding
Sometimes life doesn’t abide by traditional workday hours! For those of you that need care well past when the sun goes down, Tails of Manhattan also offers overnight boarding. Overnight boarding provides convenience and comfort in the knowledge that your dog will always have a safe place to spend the night should the need arise. In any event- work trip, long overdue vacation, or just a late evening on the job- Tails of Manhattan’s got your back. Equipped with warm beds, blankets, and the embrace of an ever-present Canine Companion, ToM tenders care even grandma might find hard to compete with.
Boarding dogs sleep overnight in our larger playroom, separated by size depending on parent comfort level. If you prefer your pet stay alone at night, Tails of Manhattan’s unique Paw-Da-Terre suites are a fantastic alternative to general boarding. ToM’s Paw-Da-Terre suites are private rooms that can be customized to your specification. Personal items, including beds, toys, and food, can be out at all times in the Paw-Da-Terre suites. As an added bonus, your pup can enjoy one on one time with a Canine Companion in a personalized, exclusive environment.
Overnight boarding is charged by night. Pick-up and drop-off time is anytime within business hours on the in date and out date. Daycare is included at no additional cost. An overnight stay at ToM is a great option if your job requires longer shifts, such as for emergency medical personnel or hospital workers, or frequent travels.
Facilities for Doggy Daycare
Dogs are separated into our playrooms by size, temperament, and weight for daycare. We always listen to the dogs within our care, and comfort level plays a huge role in which room they are assigned to. We assess which dogs they bond to, and which group maximizes the potential for fun and friendship.
Both of our playrooms are lined with Epoxy flooring- an antimicrobial, non-absorbent resin- for maximum safety and sanitation. ToM is also committed to using only cleaning products that are specifically formulated for dogs.
The Little Dog Playroom features a custom-made, turf dog park. Smart Turf, an antimicrobial, realistic grass substitute, gives your dog the full park experience- minus the dirt. Now your dog can relieve themself in comfort and cleanliness right here at daycare!
The Big Dog Playroom is, well, big. In a city where square footage can be hard to come by, ToM thought we’d set some aside for the pups of Manhattan. At ToM, even the largest dogs have a place to go where they can run to their heart’s content.
